Education
September 1981 - June 1986
Master degree in Mechanical Engineering, Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands (5-year curriculum):
-
Master study in the Computational Mechanics Department, followed graduate courses in (fluid) mechanics, materials science and applied physics.
-
Traineeship: study of a non-linear dynamic system with dry (Coulomb) friction.
-
Graduation project: stability analysis of a non-linear hydrodynamic journal-bearing system using the Hopf bifurcation theory. Developed software was later incorporated in DIANA software code (STRDYN module), and the study is
published in an international refereed journal.
